Ex-DIG acquitted of charges

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 29: The additional sessions court Mirpurkhas-II on Monday acquitted former DIG of Mirpurkhas Rana Saleemullah Khan of charges levelled against him in a case field at town police station.

Rana Saleemullah Khan had submitted quashment application to the court of additional sessions judge, Ahmed Luqman Memon, who had adjourned the hearing after both sides completed arguments till Monday.

The former DIG was not present in the court announced its verdict acquitting him of a case (No.188/06) field under sections 353, 506 (ii), 220,120-B,109,147,148, and 149 PPC.

Another accused in the case, Inspector Shahid Bajwa is absconder while four accused constables Danish, Saleem, Amjad and Ramzan, who are on bail appeared in the court.

APPEAL: The Sindh Paramedical Staff Welfare Association on Monday appealed to the Sindh High Court to take notice of ‘illegal recruitment’ being made in health department in back dates despite the court’s ban and issuance of a notification by the Services and General Administration Department of Sindh.

The association’s president, Nazeer Ahmed Detho, said at a meeting of the association that the Sindh Health Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed had directed the officers of health department on Aug 13 to solve all the problems of the paramedical staff and submit him a report within 10 days.
