‘China satisfied with security of its nationals in Pakistan’

ISLAMABAD, Oct 29: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Luo Zhaohui on Monday said Pakistan-China relations were based on confidence and mutual interest and Beijing was satisfied with the measures taken by Pakistan for the security of its nationals working here.

He was speaking at a seminar on ‘China-Pakistan Relations’ held at the Institute of Strategic Studies.

The ambassador emphasised the need to explore new ways of cooperation particularly in the economic sector. He said Pakistan had helped China in breaking its isolation back in the 1960s, rendered unconditional support to China on issues regarding Tibet, Taiwan and human rights. The Chinese government and people will never forget this support at all, he added.

Luo Zhaohui emphasised the need to further promote high- level exchanges between the two countries, expand economic and trade cooperation in a continuous and extensive manner.

He said China would follow the path of peaceful development and was committed to continuing the interest of the Chinese people with the common interest of the people of other counties.— APP
