KARAK, Oct 29: The Terri Gas Action Committee has threatened to launch a protest campaign against the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) and MOL company from Nov 15 if work is not resumed for the supply of natural gas from Gurguri gas fields to Terri and Easak Khumari areas of the Banda Daud Shah tehsil.

The committee at a meeting, presided over by its vice-president Usman Khattak, discussed progress on the gas supply project.

A large number of local people were present on the occasion.

The participants said that SNGPL and MOL were earning huge profits from the Gurugri and Makoori gas reservoirs, but they had ignored local areas.

The meeting urged the provincial government and Karak district administration to direct the SNGPL and MOL managements to undertake development projects in Banda Daud Shah tehsil.

They asked the gas exploration companies to provide jobs to local people instead of giving priority to outsiders.

The participants said they would fight a legal battle to secure their rights.
