JACOBABAD, Oct 29: A shutter down strike was observed in protest against the murder of a trader while resisting the robbery, here on Monday. According to details some armed men entered a shop on Sunday and looted thousands of rupees at gunpoint. As robbers were decamping, Vijay Kumar 35, raised hue and cry over which they panicked and opened fire, seriously injuring him. Two bullets hit Vijay Kumar who was rushed to the Civil Hospital.

He died, while being shifted to the Larkana Hospital for treatment. The funeral procession marched throughout the city and later reached the Zila Nazim’s house where protesters raised slogans against police and kept the Zila Nazim outside her house for sometime.

Protesters blocked the Quetta Road for two hours and burnt tyres which led to suspension of traffic.

They said police had failed in controlling crimes. On Saturday, robbers looted the house of Sham Lal Councillor, on Sunday they killed Vijay Kumar.
