MMA vs Durrani

GUJRAT, Oct 28: An explanation will be sought from former NWFP chief minister Akram Khan Durrani at a meeting on Nov 8 that why he delayed dissolution of the provincial assembly, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) acting chief Syed Munawar Hassan said on Sunday.

Talking to reporters at an Eid millan party here, Hassan said Durrani let down the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) and the entire opposition by delaying the dissolution of the assembly, adding he would be asked to explain why he did so, at a meeting of the MMA supreme council next month.

About differences between Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and JI, he said MMA was the ‘largest’ electoral alliance of the country and a difference of opinion among its leaders was a ‘routine matter’.— Correspondent
