LAHORE, Oct 27: Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan on Saturday was elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
According to provisional results, Mr Aitzaz received 1,039 votes — 556 from Lahore, 128 from Islamabad, 147 from Karachi, 64 from Peshawar, 63 from Multan, 39 from Quetta, 16 from Abbotabad and 26 from Bahwalpur.
His rival, Barrister Zafarullah, got 172 votes.
Final results will be announced on Oct 31.—Reporter
