Plot foiled to blow up gas pipeline

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Oct 27: Security forces on Saturday foiled an attempt to blow up a pipeline supplying gas from the Loti gas field to the main purification plant in Sui.

Official sources said some people had planted a powerful bomb under a 24 inches diameter pipeline connecting the Loti gas field with the Sui gas purification plant.

Police defused the bomb after receiving a tip.

Meanwhile, militants fired rockets on a checkpoint of the Frontier Corps in Jandran mountains. Sources said that the rockets were fired from Pari area of the Kohlu district.

However, they missed the target and exploded near the checkpost.
