Girl injured as part of roof caves in

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 27: A girl student the Government Rabia Basri High School, Hameedpura Colony was injured as a big chunk of plaster of the roof fell on her, on Saturday.

According to reports, plaster of the roof of Class 7, gave way injuring the girl student who was rushed to a nearby private hospital.

Reports revealed the school building was in dilapidated condition thus posing threats to the lives of students and staff. The headmistress, it added, had already informed in writing the concerned authorities of the Education Department and Zila Nazim about the dilapidated condition of the school building but in vain.

Zila Naib Nazim Dr Zafar Ahmed Kamali and Taluka Nazim Mirpurkhas, Ghulam Dastagir Khan went to the school on receiving information.

School staff, students, their parents and area people raised slogans against the district administration.

Dr Zafar Kamali and Ghulam Dastagir Khan met the school staff and visited the dilapidated school building and assured to take measures for the repair of building.
