Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Oct 27: The additional advocate-general (AAG) of the NWFP, Arbab Muhammad Usman Khan, has resigned from his post. He sent his resignation letter to NWFP Governor Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai on Saturday.

Following the dismissal of the NWFP Assembly on the advice of the chief minister on Oct 10, Mr Usman is the second AAG to resign after Khushdil Khan who resigned a few days ago.

Mr Usman in his resignation letter stated that he was appointed by the previous government and after installation of a caretaker set-up in the province he considered it proper to resign.

“I have resigned from my post and requested the governor to consider my resignation from Oct 29,” Mr Usman told Dawn. He was appointed on March 8, 2004.
