PESHAWAR, Oct 26: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Salim Saifullah Khan said on Friday the MMA government and former MPAs from Lakki Marwat in the recently dissolved provincial assembly had deliberately ignored the uplift of their native areas despite being in power for five years.

He was talking to a representative delegation from the Behram Khel Union Council at his residence in Lakki Marwat. He said the MMA government created a lot of hurdles in the development of the backward Lakki district and seized its uplift funds.

The minister said the district government of Lakki completed most of the uplift schemes from its own resources in education, health, communication, irrigation and agriculture sectors.

He said the provincial government blocked payment of Rs360 million to the district government of Lakki and said had it been provided to the district, the lot of its dwellers would have been changed for the better.—APP
