KARACHI, Oct 26: The National Industrial Relations Commission member Ghulam Nauman Shaikh restrained the PS management from taking any adverse action with regard to the employment of Syed Mehmood Rehan, an office assistant active in trade union activities.

Petitioner Rehan contended through Advocate Abdul Ghaffar that the applicant proceeded on leave for 30 days on August 6 for his marriage after duly submitting a leave application. However, the management decided to issue him a statement of allegations followed by a charge sheet in his absence. He alleged that the management wanted to victimize him for his trade union activities.

The NIRC member asked the management to file comments on the main application and a counter-affidavit on stay of inquiry proceedings against the petitioner. November 10 was fixed as the date of hearing and the management was restrained in the meantime from taking action against the petitioner.
