Govt lost right to rule: Magsi

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Oct 25: The Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party Chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has said that the attack on PPP chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto on the Oct 18 rally had proved that the government had completely failed in controlling extremism and terrorism in the country and therefore, it had no legal and moral right to remain in power.

He was speaking at a meeting of the central committee of the party held at Taraqi Pasand House here on Thursday.

The meeting observed two minutes of silence and offered Fateha for the martyrs of the Karachi carnage. They discussed the political situation in the country in the backdrop of the Oct 18 tragedy.

Dr Magsi said that terrorism and extremism were posing great threat to democracy, brotherhood, human values and tolerance.

He called upon all the democratic and nationalist forces and people at large to unite on single platform to fight against these evils.

He alleged that the statements of some federal and provincial ministers were indicative of the fact that they were the supporters of not only Oct 18 bomb blasts but also of other acts of terrorism that had taken place before.
