Return filing

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the date for filing of sales tax-cum-federal excise returns for the tax period September, 2007.

The extension in filing of returns will only be available to the taxpayers of Karachi till October 27, instead of earlier October 23 owing to bomb blasts in Karachi disrupting the business activities.

FBR Secretary Information Hafeez Mughal in a statement said that the decision was taken following a number of registered persons from Karachi approached the FBR chairman with the request for extension in the due date for filing of sales tax-cum-federal excise return and summary statement.

He said the last date for filing of returns for taxpayers of other cities will remain unchanged.
