ISLAMABAD, Oct 24: Pakistan’s pair of Asim Shafik and Shahzad Khan qualified for semi-finals of the men’s doubles event of the Pakistan Futures International Ranking tennis tournament at the PTF Complex’s clay court on Wednesday.
The duo eliminated Russian pair of Alexander Gigitashvili and Vladimir Gigitashvili in straights sets (6-1, 7-5).
They will face Korea’s Jeong-Han Seo and India’s Ashwin Vijayragavan in the semi-final on Thursday at 3pm.
Jeong-Han Seo and Ashwin Vijayragavan got walkover against Russia’s Artem Isaev and Portugal’s Frederico Marques in the quarter-final.
Men’s singles quarter-finals will also be held on Thursday with Pakistan’s Aqeel Khan taking on Korea’s Bo-Sung Kim at 11am.
