PIA flight lands amid bomb scare

FAISALABAD: A PIA flight, PK 305, carrying 222 passengers made an emergency landing at Faisalabad airport on Wednesday following a bomb hoax.

The flight was on way from Lahore to Karachi when it landed here at 7:06pm. Airport officials were informed about the presence of a bomb in the aircraft by Lahore office a few minutes after the flight took off. The news panicked the passengers.

Airport officials made emergency arrangements and called a bomb disposal squad to check the plane.

Airport manager Mazhar Ali said when information was aired they made all required arrangements to avert any eventuality. He said the flight was searched carefully and cleared by the bomb disposal squad for further movement.
