KARACHI: HRCP slams Oct 18 attack

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 24: The Sindh Council of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday expressed its deep concern over the escalation in terrorist attacks in the country and the authorities’ continued failure to ensure safety of citizens.

According to the vice-chairperson of HRCP, Sindh, Zohra Yusuf, the council held an emergency meeting here and condemned the dastardly attack on Benazir Bhutto’s convoy. It urged the government to ensure that the tragedy did not undermine or stop the political activities in the country.

It also demanded establishment of a proper crisis management system to deal with such frequent emergencies and tragedies.

The council urged the government to allow all exiled leaders, including Nawaz Sharif, to return home.
