KARACHI, Oct 24: Three ships carrying containers, edible oil and chemicals were accommodated berths at QICT, MPT and EVT on Tuesday, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with to load containers and rice also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 80pc where eight ships, Nedlloyd Amrica, Maersk Ohio, Skipper Ali, Berenice, Tianjin Pioneer, Zhong Hau-7, Al-Debaran and Qemstar, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, seeds, edible oil, furnace oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 89,583 tons comprising 70,545 tons of import and 19,038 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Debaran was sailed out while Zhong Hau-7 and Berenice were expected to depart.
