Pakistan face Iraqin soccer clash today

LAHORE, Oct 21: Pakistan face Asian champions Iraq in the 19th World Cup soccer qualifier at the Punjab Stadium on Monday.It is the eighth clash between them. The two countries played against each other for the first time in Tehran’s Friendship Cup in 1969 which Pakistan won 2-1.

Since then, Iraq remained unbeaten, claiming four wins in World Cup qualifiers and one win each in Jordan Cup and Asian Games.The last match between the two countries took place ten years ago in Baghdad which Iraq won 6-1.The second leg will be played in Damascus, Syria, as Iraq is barred from playing at home due to security reasons.Teams:
