SAHIWAL, Oct 21: PPP workers on Sunday offered `ghaibana’ prayers for the victims of bomb blasts in Karachi.

Prayers were offered at Sahiwal, Harappa, Noorshah, Kamir, Kassowal, Yusafwala and Qadirabad.

PPP leaders Mehr Ghulam Farid Kathia, Zaki Chaudhry, Tahir Abbas Sindhu, Mian Asghar Gurdaspuri, former MNA Mian Anwarul Haq Ramay and Ali Nawaz Bhatti were also among participants.

They said that the blood of the Karachi victims would not go waste and democracy would soon be restored in the country. They also prayed for the long life of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

OKARA: A large number of PPP workers coming from all across the district offered funeral prayers in absentia at the party’s district office here.

PPP district president Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna, NA-144 candidate Arif Chaudhry, PP-191 candidate and former MPA Rana Ikram Rabbani, local office-bearer Alam Sher Lodhi, Rao Rafique, Abdul Sattar Perdesi, Malik Irshad Sultan Bhatti, Major Shahid Mohal (retired) also offered the prayers.

TOBA TEK SINGH: Dozens of PPP and other political and religious parties’ workers offered `ghaibana’ prayers in Committee Bagh. Former PPP MPA Mian Muhammad Rafiq, district PML-N president Chaudhry Amjad Ali Javed, Jamaat-i-Islami leader Dr Maqbool Ahmad, union council nazim Tahir Sattar, Press Club secretary Tariq Saeed, city PPP president Zulfiqar Ali, secretary Rana Khalid and Kamalia PPP leader Farooq Semab also attended the funeral prayers.
