HYDERABAD: Benazir salutes youths’ bravery

HYDERABAD, Oct 21: The People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto expressed her grief over the deaths of 12 members of the Sindh People’s Youth Organisation (SPYO) who had been killed in the blasts at her welcome reception in Karachi on Thursday.The leaders of the SPYO Hyderabad division met Ms Benazir Bhutto in Karachi on Sunday.The twelve SPYO activists lost their lives while 27 others were seriously injured while protecting their party chief during the rally.Ms Benazir Bhutto appreciated the party’s youth wing for its solid commitment and expressed grief over the lost of lives of its members who were killed while providing her security.The delegation was led by Ahsan Ali Abro, the Hyderabad division president of the SPYO, Akram Iqbal, Ramzan Rind and Tanvir Arain. During the meeting they shared details of those who died in the blasts.“Bibi encouraged us greatly not to get depressed as more testing times might be in store for the party workers and leadership,” Ahsan Abro quoted Ms Benazir Bhutto as telling the delegation.

The members of the delegation told her that they were ready to scarify their lives to protect their leader.She told the SPYO delegation that those who were killed in the blasts were the true Bhutto loyalists and they had sacrificed their lives to protect her and their leadership.She made it clear that she would remain in touch with the party workers, bereaved families and those who were injured regardless of her security concerns.
