Another booze-up Eid

By Our Correspondent

VEHARI, Oct 17: Up to half a dozen people were hospitalised in Jalla Jeem and Do Kota due to consuming toxic liquor on Eid days, Dawn has learnt.

Those affected were admitted to private hospitals, eyewitness said. No death was, however, reported till the filing of this report. Private hospitals refused to disclose the names of the patients. But police claimed they unearthed 18 distilleries and arrested 116 bootleggers and liquor manufacturers in the last week.

DPO Malik Tassadaq said the police seized 500 bottles of liquor from various parts of the district.
