Hundreds of vehicles to participate in PPP motorcade

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Oct 17: Hundreds of workers, supporters and leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) left for Karachi from various parts of Balochistan on Wednesday to welcome their leader Benazir Bhutto.

Various processions, comprising party workers and supporters, gathered in Quetta in the morning and left for Karachi in a caravan of around 300 vehicles led by provincial party president Haji Lashkari Khan Raisani, senior vice president Jamal Khan Jogezai and general secretary Bismillah Khan Kakar.

The caravan was given a warm welcome in Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Bela Uthal and towns along the RCD Highway.

According to reports, hundreds of supporters joined the caravan along the way.

Another caravan comprising around 200 vehicles left for Karachi from Dera Murad Jamali led by former PPPP provincial president Sadiq Ali Umrani, which included workers from Nasirabad, Jaffarabad, Jhal Magsi, Bolan and Sibi.

Mir Sadiq Ali Umrani, PPP central committee member, said the workers would give a befitting welcome to their leader and prove that she was the only popular leader of the country.

Mr Jogezai said that despite the hurdles created by the Sindh chief minister, the party supporters would reach Karachi. He warned that if the provincial government tried to hinder the PPP processions, then they would resist it with full force.
