PESHAWAR, Oct 12: Taliban’s supreme commander Mullah Mohammad Omar has said that all countries in the region should play an active role for withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan.

In an Eid message issued by Taliban spokesman Zabeehullah Mujahid on Friday, Mullah Omar said that neighbouring countries should establish good relations with Afghanistan. He said the United States had become a threat to the entire region.

The statement in Pashto said there could be no peace in the region without the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan and the establishment of a representative Islamic government in the country with the consent of all groups.

Mullah Omar asked ulema, jihadi commanders and political leaders to work together for the glory of Islam.
