‘JUI-F addicted to power’

PESHAWAR, Oct 11: The JUI-F, addicted to being in the government, expected a share in the caretaker set-up, according to the federal minister for political affairs and the provincial president of the ruling PML, Amir Muqam.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Mr Muqam said that after the party failed in securing a major share in the caretaker government in the NWFP, it gave a strike call which was rejected by the people.

He said the people’s response to the protest call had exposed the JUI-F’s credibility, adding that the people were fed up with strikes and protests and wanted peace.

He said that people had generally hailed the nomination of Shamsul Mulk as the NWFP’s caretaker chief minister. Praising the new chief minister as being a talented and honest man, he said that he would ensure just and transparent holding of elections.—APP
