Chinese pair sued for stealing brand

SHANGHAI, Oct 10: Two Chinese men will stand trial for hijacking the Special Olympics brand for use in illegal advertising, state media reported Wednesday.

Not only did they not have authorisation, the men, Dong Jinbao and Zhu Benyi, reportedly also knew that the event for 7,300 mentally disabled people currently being held in Shanghai does not charge advertising fees.

Dong and Zhu charged their client 70,000 yuan (9,310 dollars) in service fees, and stole an official Special Olympics Games stamp to use on their so-called contracts, the report said.—AFP
