KRL official’s house looted

ISLAMABAD: Oct 10: The house of a senior official of Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) at Sector I-10/4 was looted on Wednesday, police said.

Tariq Mehmood told the Sabzi Mandi police that three unidentified persons disguising themselves as income tax officials entered his house in his absence. The bandits looted Rs12,000 cash, gold ornaments, a cellphone and wrist watches in the house and escaped.

ASI Tanveer Ahmed, who is investigating the matter, said a case had been registered but the culprits were yet to be traced.

VEHICLES LIFTED: Three vehicles were stolen in different parts of the federal capital on Wednesday.

A pickup of Iesco (RPY-6901) was stolen from the Aabpara area while a car (RLB-6388) was taken away from Sector G-9/1. A motorcycle (CHA-9136) was lifted from the parking area of Pims.

Meanwhile, the Kohsar police arrested two persons from outside the Swedish embassy on the charge of thrashing a police guard and snatching his official rifle on Wednesday.

Ali Abdullah, the police guard from the diplomatic protection department, told the Kohsar police that he along with two private security men was deployed at the embassy in Sector F-6/3 when two young men came there and insisted on meeting the embassy officials. However, they were denied entry as the office timing was over.

Following this, one of the men thrashed the policeman while the other snatched the gun. The guards, however, overpowered them and recovered the gun.

Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident in the Airport police area on Wednesday.

Mohammad Aqeel was going in his motorcycle (IDM-8749), when a car (LG-057) driven by Shahzad hit him, killing him on the spot. The car driver escaped after the accident.

Five persons including a couple and their two sons were injured in a pile-up of two wagons and a motorcycle at Committee Chowk. The injured were shifted to the Rawalpindi General Hospital by Rescue 1122 ambulances, where they were in stable condition.
