ICL serves notice on Yousuf

Published October 10, 2007

LAHORE, Oct 9: Pakistan’s ace middle-order batsman Mohammad Yousuf has been served a notice by the Indian Cricket League (ICL) for breaching a three-year contract, sources told Dawn on Tuesday.

It was learnt that the notice was received by Yousuf’s family at his home address two days ago.

Yousuf along with former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, opener Imran Farhat and all-rounder Abdul Razzaq had signed a three-year contract with the rebel ICL last month.

However, the bearded Lahore player was later persuaded by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to reverse his decision.

The PCB also assured Yousuf of its full support during any legal hassles he may face in the wake of his decision to quit ICL.
