KARACHI, Oct 9: Secretary-General of the National Party Mir Hasil Bizenjo has said that there cannot be a national reconciliation without the settlement of Balochistan issue.

Talking to party workers during his visit to Kalri area of Lyari Town on Tuesday, he said the present political crisis could not be resolved by use of brute force.

Mr Bizenjo said the NP desired that all nationalist parties should fight the forthcoming national elections on a common platform to defeat the reactionary and anti-democratic forces.

He said his party would make all-out efforts to forge unity among the nationalist parties in the province.

In this regard, he said, his party had already contacted leaders of the Balochistan National Party (Mengal).

Accusing the government of sidelining the basic issues of Balochistan, NP leader said the federal government still had a colonial approach towards federating units of the country as it was not ready to discuss the real issues.

He stressed that the federal government must recognize Balochistan people’s due rights on the natural resources of their province.

The government had complicated the Balochistan problems by creating a situation of armed conflict, he said, alleging that it was not serious about a political solution by initiating dialogue with nationalist parties who represent majority of Baloch people.
