KARACHI, Oct 9: The Sindh government has formed a review board under the National Reconciliation Ordinance, says a home department handout.
Justice (Retd) Dr Ghous Muhammad, former judge of the SHC, will head the board.
“Under Sub-section 3 of Section 2 of the Ordinance, the review board shall review the entire record of the pending cases of any person including an absconding accused who is found to be falsely involved for political reasons or through political victimization in any case initiated between 1st day of January 1986 to 12th day of Oct 1999, as envisaged in the said Ordinance, and furnish recommendations to the government of Sindh as to their withdrawal from the prosecution or otherwise,” says the handout.—PPI
