KARAK : ‘PPP believes in democracy, supremacy of parliament’

KARAK, Oct 9: The provincial president of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, Rahim Dad Khan, has said that his party believes in democracy and the supremacy of parliament.
He was addressing PPP workers on Monday night in the main city. He said the PPP was struggling for the respect of all public representatives and wanted secret agencies and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) not to arrest and harass them without the consent of the parliament.
He said the PPP had reached an understanding with the rulers on free, fair and transparent elections and peaceful transfer of power, but its opponents had dubbed the same a deal with the military dictator.
He said during its tenure, the PPP had tried to create employment opportunities for the people and invited foreign companies to invest in Pakistan.
He said the government had failed to prove a single case against PPP leaders, including party chairperson Benazir Bhutto and her husband Asif Ali Zardari, adding that all cases which were framed during the second stint of Nawaz Sharif were baseless.
He claimed that the PPP would emerge as the single largest party in the elections, because the ruling Pakistan Muslim League and its allies had failed to deliver during the past five years.
