KARACHI, Oct 9: A dozen vessels carrying containers and steel cargo expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly brisk where seven ships, Aqua Star to load cement, Sinar Binton, Wadi Al-Rayan, Augusta and Wan Hai-303 to unload and load containers, Oriental Protea and Chem Rose, both tankers were berthed.

Four ships, Ever Govern, Jitra Bhum, Magnate and Pulau Cebu departed on Tuesday, while Despina, Augusta, Wadi Al-Rayan, Golden Arrow, Oriental Protea, Wan Hai-303, Chem Rose, Oel Spirit ,Oriental Salvia and Iran Sattari are due to sail out on Wednesday.Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where total tonnage of 0.162m tons comprising 49,888 tons of export cargo including 11,871 tons of cement and 0.113m tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Golden Accord to load ethanol, Chem Iris with chemicals, El ESR, with lube oil, Hyundai Highway, Jade Trader and Ulcas with containers, Iron Butterfly with project cargo, Ariella, Chong Chon Gang, Dong Shun Ocean with steel and general cargo.
