Saeed, Nauman steal limelight


KARACHI, Oct 8: Superb performances by Saeed bin Nasir, Naumanullah and Kamran steered Tapal Cricket Club into the final of Aga Khan Gymkhana Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament when they beat KESC by 24 runs at the AKG Ground.

Saeed scored 65 with four sixes and as many boundaries and Naumanullah struck three sixes and a four in making 49 as the the pair added 109 for the unbroken fourth-wicket stand that helped Tapal CC reach 173 for three.

KESC, in response, were restricted to 148-8 in their 20 overs. Fazal Subhan made 42 with a brace of sixes and two fours and Arif Mahmood slammed four boundaries in his 26.

Left-arm spinner Kamran Umar caused the main damage with three wickets for 19 runs and Naumanullah picked up two wickets.

Saeed and Naumanullah were declared joint Man-of-the-Match.

Tapal CC will take on M. Tex XI in the final on Thursday.
