Pakistan flops in Bermuda Bowl World Bridge


BEIJING, Oct 6: Pakistan team lost all of its three matches on Saturday and crashed out of the Bermuda Bowl World Bridge Championship being played in Shanghai.

Pakistan lost to the Netherlands (14-16), USA-1 (9-12) and Ireland (12-18) in its last three matches of the round robin league and could not make it into the last eight for the next round of knock out stage as it earned 17th position out of 22 participating teams.

The non-playing captain of the Pakistan, Kemal Shoaib while giving his impression on the performance of the team, said from Shanghai: “Certainly we had made tough preparations for the tournament but unfortunately we could not play well here.”

He pointed out that there were some bad sessions against various teams for which they had to pay the price.

“If you have two or three bad sessions, then it becomes very difficult to fight back,” he said.Pakistan team will leave for home on Sunday.—APP
