PESHAWAR: Action against power theft sought


PESHAWAR, Oct 6: Pesco chief executive Brig Sakhi Marjan has directed officials concerned to expedite the drive against power pilferage so that increasing trend of power theft could be stopped and the company’s line losses be reduced.

In this connection, Pesco surveillance teams raided many meters in the Nishtarabad subdivision and arrested three consumes for meter tempering.

Pesco requested consumers involved in illegal use of electricity to stop power pilferage or be ready to face legal action.

Pesco faces huge financial loses due to power theft and the company’s distribution system gets overloaded due to which people have to face inconvenience of frequent breakdowns, says a press release issued by Wapda on Saturday.—PPI
