LAHORE, Oct 5: The University of Punjab will take part in 22 disciplines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in 2007-08 sports season.

The disciplines are weightlifting, gymnastics, table tennis, rowing, squash, cricket, basketball, football, bodybuilding, rifle shooting, badminton, kabaddi, hiking, tennis, hockey, handball, boxing, volleyball, tug-of-war, wrestling, athletics, swimming.

Meanwhile, trials to select Punjab University hockey team for the Inter-varsity will be held on Monday and Tuesday at the Old Campus ground.
