District Nazim Chaudhry Abdul Sattar said it was the ruling PML which gave due status to teachers.

QUITS PARTY OFFICE: Chaudhry Saeed Akhtar, secretary-general of the local chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), has announced quitting his party office and active politics.

Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said he was quitting politics because of personal reasons and business engagements. He, however, added he would remain an ordinary PPP worker.

A source said Mr Akhtar was aspirant of PPP ticket for a provincial assembly seat from Rajana, but some influential leaders were opposing him, so he decided to call it a day much ahead of the general elections.
