KARACHI: Lawyers plan move against ‘Sept 30 culprits’

By A Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 5: The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) on Friday decided to register a case against those involved in ransacking the Karachi Bar Room, CCTV cameras theft and demolition of the KBA monument on Sept 30.

The KBA managing committee in its meeting at the Committee Room discussed various issues in the backdrop of the prevailing circumstances.

The meeting decided to file a petition for the registration of a case against the unidentified persons for smashing the windowpanes and damaging the association’s properties.

It also condemned the police action and arrest of lawyers and termed it illegal. The participants of the meeting said that they would not remain silent on these issues and would take action so that the situation did not not recur.

It was decided that the lawyers would follow the decision of the Pakistan Bar Council and would boycott courts proceedings today. The meeting urged all the members to ensure their presence.
