KARACHI, Oct 5: Three ships carrying containers and edible oil were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, five ships with containers, diesel oil and furnace oil arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Cap Akritas, Lahore Express, Sadwan Island, Spar Emerald, Harsanadi, Rio Gracia, Al- Kortubi and Lucky Viship, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, fertiliser, edible oil, chemicals, LPG and coal.

A cargo volume of 62,800 tons comprising 47,657 tons of import and 15,143 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Rio Garcia and Al-Kortubi left the port while Lahore Express was due to depart.
