MQM to vote for Musharraf

Published October 5, 2007

LONDON, Oct 4: The Coordination Committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement announced here on Thursday night to support Gen Pervez Musharraf in the presidential election.

The party — which had expressed serious reservations over the government’s deal with PPP leader Benazir Bhutto and its ministers had been boycotting federal cabinet meetings for a few days — said the committee, after a meeting, had decided to direct its members of the national and provincial assemblies to vote for Gen Musharraf ‘in larger national interest’.
