LAHORE, Oct 4: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Thursday refused to entertain an Intra Court Appeal (ICA) by the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) against the order of Justice Syed Hamid Ali Shah, declaring Indian sugar fit for human consumption.
Division bench head by Justice Muzammal Khan said it would not be appropriate to entertain the petition because he had remained associated with the PSMA as their adviser.
Filing the appeal, the PSMA involved as respondents the Pakistan Standard Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR), Customs Collectorate at the Lahore Dry Port and the Ministry of Trade and Commerce. —Reporter
