MULTAN, Oct 4: Frontier Constabulary (FC) officials allegedly beat school students who were protesting against the Dhodak Plant administration.
The Dhodak Plant administration provides students transport from Bahar Wali to Taunsa Sharif under an agreement signed between local tribesmen and the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL). On Thursday, an OGDCL driver did not stop his bus near Kot Qaisrani Morr, leaving several students there. Angry students reached Dhodak Plant and protested against the administration.
FC officials arrested six protesting students, took them to their camp and beat them. In protest, students and tribesmen belonging to the Qaisrani tribe blocked Dhodak-Taunsa Sharif Road.
The plant administration handed the arrested students to Taunsa police, alleging that students broke the bus’ windows.
FC official Daulat Khan denied students were beaten. — Correspondent
