Arif stands out in AKU event


KARACHI, Oct 2: Arif Butt’s magnificent six-wicket haul guided the NJA to a 15-run win against the AKU F&S team in a round match of the third AKU Twenty20 Ramazan Colour Kit tournament on Monday at the AKU Sports Centre ground.

Electing to bat first, the NJA scored 158-9 in the designated 20 overs. Naushad Khan (46) and Zaid Meer (31) batted well while Dr Jahangir Khan (2-24), Naeem Madhani (2-25) and Raheel Sumani (2-30) shared bulk of the wickets.

In reply, the AKU F&S could reach 143 before being dismissed in 19.5 overs with Karim Khan (31), Naeem Madhni (28) and Razi Mughal (23) being the chief scorers. NJC’s Arif Butt (6-10) produced a fine bowling show with the back-up of team-mate Kashif Butt (2-29).

Zaid Meer of the NJA received the man-of-the-match award.
