PESHAWAR: The All Parties Democratic Alliance and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Monday decided to defer their decision to tender resignations or seek the dissolution of the NWFP Assembly until the disposal of a no-confidence motion against the chief minister.

“After consultations, our leadership decided to defer the decision to resign or seek the dissolution of the assembly until after the disposal of the no-confidence move,” provincial Minister for Information Asif Iqbal Daudzai told Dawn.

Chief Minister Akram Durrani presided over a joint meeting of the APDM and MMA parliamentary heads in the NWFP Assembly, which continued till late in the night.

Speaker Bakht Jehan Khan, ANP parliamentary leader Bashir Ahmad Bilour, PML-N leader Anwar Kamal Marwat, JUI-F Senator Maulana Gul Nasib, provincial amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Sirajul Haq, Health Minister Inayatullah Khan, adviser to the chief minister Shamsur Rehman Shamsi, the information minister, the advocate general, the law secretary and the assembly secretary participated in the discussion.
