KARACHI, Oct 1: Babar Manzoor of Lahore Shalimar and Umar Akmal of Lahore Ravi slammed centuries on the opening day of their respective three-day Inter-region U-19 championship matches on Monday.
Babar hit 135 in 215 minutes with 11 boundaries and five sixes as Lahore Shalimar posted 379 all out against Karachi Urban at the LCCA Ground Lahore, according to the information received here.
Meanwhile, at the Country Club Ground Muridke, Umar Akmal smashed 119 in 106 balls with 17 boundaries and four sixes to help steer Lahore Ravi to 309-9 in 83 overs against Islamabad.
Also on Monday, Faisalabad mustered 308 before being bowled out in 81.4 overs against Karachi Harbour at the Landhi Gymkhana ground, Karachi, with Atif Manzoor and Adnan Khan hitting half-centuries.
At the KRL Ground, Rawalpindi, as many as 15 wickets fell on Monday as Rawalpindi and Peshawar almost shared the honours even on the opening day of their three-day match.
Asked to bat first on a green-top pitch, Peshawar were bundled out for a paltry 161 in 56.5 overs but then hit back to reduce Rawalpindi to 74-5 in 26 overs.
