Uplift funds for colleges doubled


GUJRANWALA, Oct 1: The Punjab government has doubled development funds of four colleges of the district under an upgradation programme and released Rs80 million for this purpose.

Sources told Dawn on Monday that the provincial government had released Rs15 million each for the Government Girls Inter College, Kamoki, and Maulana Zafar Ali Khan College, Wazirabad, and Rs20 million for the Government College for Boys and Rs30 million for the Government College for Women, Satellite Town.

These colleges were facing shortage of funds, and their administrations had demanded enhancing their funds to complete the ongoing development projects within the stipulated period. The government acceded to the demands and doubled their funds.— Correspondent
