Inquiry ordered into Saturday violence

ISLAMABAD, Sept 30: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday ordered an inquiry into Saturday’s violence against journalists and lawyers in Islamabad.

According to an official handout, the Interior Ministry had constituted a committee headed by Additional Secretary (interior) Imtiaz Qazi to probe into the “incident at Constitution Avenue”.

Other committee members are: Joint Secretary Rashad Bashir Mazari and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad Aamer Ahmad Ali.

The committee will present its report in 10 days.
