KARACHI, Sept 29: Despite a fine knock of 118 by Ali Haider, Lahore Shalimar suffered a six-wicket defeat against Karachi Urban in the PCB Inter-regional Under-19 One-day Cricket Championship tie at the LCCA Ground in Lahore on Saturday.

Batting first, Lahore Shalimar made 230 for five in their 50 overs with Ali Haider striking 13 fours and three sixes in his 152-ball innings.

Shahzaib Hasan then bludgeoned 78 off 64 balls with seven fours and three sixes while dominating the opening stand of 130 with Hafiz Asad Baig (40 off 73 balls, four fours) as Karachi Urban reached their target with 19 balls to spare.

Ali Waqas hammered an undefeated 142 off 150 balls to help Faisalabad trounce Karachi Harbour by 219 runs at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground. Ali, who stroked 15 fours and as many as six sixes, was involved in a fifth-wicket partnership of 166 with Mohammad Ayub (64 off 93 balls, eight fours and two sixes) as the visitors recovered from 84 for four to pile up 292 for eight.

Slow left-armer Hasan Masood then grabbed five for 11 as Karachi Harbour crashed to 73 all out in the 25th over.

In other matches, Rawalpindi thrashed Peshawar by nine wickets; Lahore Ravi beat defending champions Islamabad by 61 runs and Sialkot overwhelmed Hyderabad by seven wickets.

At Lahore Country Club, Muridke: Lahore Ravi beat Islamabad by 61 runs.
