Shastri to head NCA
MUMBAI, Sept 29: Former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri has accepted the post of chairman of the country’s national cricket academy, the Indian board said on Saturday.
The 45-year-old, who is a commentator with a leading sports broadcaster, was offered the position on Friday and wanted some time to decide.
“Shastri has accepted the post and visited the facility in Bangalore today,” a BCCI official said.
Shastri takes over the post from another former captain Kapil Dev, who was sacked last month for refusing to give up his involvement with a rebel Twenty20 league.—Reuters
