Over 100 arrested

ISLAMABAD, Sept 29: Over 100 people belonging to the lawyers community and political parties were arrested on the charge of creating law and order situation and violating Section 144 here on Saturday.

Thirty lawyers, most of them injured, including Ali Ahmad Kurd were arrested from the Pakistan Institute of

Medical Sciences, Federal Government Services Hospital and near Supreme Court of Pakistan. The police later released Mr Kurd.

Fifty activists and workers of PML-N, including MNA Rana Mehmoodul Hassan, were arrested near Parliament Lodges and the Supreme Court building.

About 10 workers and activists, most of them women, belonging to the PPP were detained in front of Election Commission. The police manhandled the women and bundled them into a truck.

Some activists of Jamaat-i-Islami were also arrested.
