FIR lodged against 17: Students’ clash

HYDERABAD, Sept 28: Jamshoro police lodged a case against 17 activists of Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSSF) of Arisar group following a firing incident on a police party allegedly by the activists of the party in the university’s hostel on Friday.

None of them was arrested so far. An FIR was lodged on the complaint of ASI Bakhar Khan Rodhnani against Hafeez Pirzado, Rooplo Choliyani, Akhtar Sheikh, Khalil Sindhi, Asadullah alias Labbaik Chandio and 12 unidentified persons. Police said that they had intercepted them at the hostel’s gate for body search while some outsiders wanted to enter into the hostel and police refused to allow them to enter. Upon which the activists resorted to firing and barged into the hostel.

Following exchange of fire the activists managed to escape from rear side of the hostel.

Later, a large number of students also staged a protest demonstration outside the VC’s bungalow demanding rescheduling of midterm examinations.
